dnata Travel Group, part of the Emirates Group, includes the brands of Gold Medal, Netflights, Travelbag, Travel Republic, and Sunmaster. These brands are based at offices across the UK including Preston (Leyland), Kingston-upon-Thames, Chester and Halifax.

We are now recruiting for a SEO Manager; 

Job Purpose

We drive the customer journey- we improve the rankings of our content-rich landing pages to make sure the customers find Travel Republic through organic non-brand acquisition, so we can help customers choose their next destination and/or holiday type. Often, our customers don’t realise how Travel Republic could help make their trip easier and more exciting, while still offering best value. It’s our job to show them the breadth of what is possible – from all-inclusive holidays in Spain, to short European city breaks with friends, to family packages in Orlando and Dubai- our holidays are easy to find, plan and book (and at best value).

As part of our team, you’ll help make all this possible. You’ll work closely with writers, designers, holiday product team, social media specialists and IT product teams and developers to make sure the site are built to high standards. You’ll ensure the pages are easily findable on search engines and inspire visitors to become our customers. Your technical direction, inspirational guidance, and thoughtful management will accelerate the work of the SEO and Content team.

Here’s what you’ll be doing

Travel Republic website is going through transformation. We have moved to a new tailored CMS and we move our landing pages to new platform. It is a very existing project as Travel Republic has more than 30k destination landing pages and more than 300k hotels on the offer. Think VOLUMES!

Your technical and architectural SEO guidelines would be vital to make this project being successful.

As the SEO Manager for Travel Republic, you’ll face constant challenges to come up with and execute new experiments – new tactics, new content, new creative – to ensure we’re reaching our SEO, business and customer goals.

More specifically, you’ll:

  • Strategy: Working closely with the Head of SEO create a data driven strategy. Proposing projects to improve traffic, keyword performance and increase sales/leads for TR website.
  • Technical: Crawl, audit and recommend technical SEO improvements. Manage a backlog and work with product, UX and IT teams to deliver changes. Manage SEO roadmap across technical SEO.
  • Content: Working on identifying, adding & enhancing content on TR website to help with the driving ranking improvements in Google & other search engines. Work collaboratively with content writers and provide insights which help drive further content development decisions. CMS content editing. Manage content creation roadmap.
  • Authority: Identify and deliver opportunities for improving offsite SEO through link acquisition. Create, manage and implement an effective off-page strategy, defining KPIs and reporting and driving its success. Manage any link-bait/SEO agencies and work with Head of SEO, PR and social teams ensuring work done is effective and efficient and the campaigns deliver for SEO benefit.
  • Reporting: Investigating changes in ranking performance of our brand websites. Reporting using a variety of SEO & analytics tools, including Google Analytics, Search Console, GetStat, etc. Deliver metrics that show impressive improvement every month, quarter, and year.
  • Budgeting: Working with the Head of Marketing to shape SEO budget requirements and delivery.

Management & Development

  • Comfortable making judgement calls and problem-solving for the team as/where needed
  • Ability to find, negotiate with and manage local resource (SEO outreach agencies, content agencies, PR, designers etc.) when required.
  • Assist in the recruitment, onboarding and training of new copywriters (incl. freelancers)

Relationship Management

  • Someone who naturally builds relationships and who is comfortable selling
  • Act as a point person for content interactions with the wider business, including training new team members and liaising with product to ensure the timely publishing of all content
  • Act as a point person for external outreach agencies, managing their relationships by leading weekly calls, organising quarterly meeting and driving development of new content ideas for maximum output
  • Your skills and experience include:

  • Experience managing larger SEO budgets to positive ROI and profit levels
  • Demonstrable experience of strategic and hands-on SEO experience, covering content, on-site, outreach and tactical SEO strategies in ultra-competitive sector
  • Strong technical SEO experience across large website (100k+ landing pages) (meta tags, sitemaps, redirects, geo-targeting, domains management, hosting / DNS configuration,, etc.)
  • Understanding of CMS and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and how these can be utilised to maximise SEO potential
  • Demonstrable track record of developing and executing advanced outreach strategies (through online PR, social media) leading to noticeable improvement in organic rankings
  • Strong SEO content skills (copywriting, understanding the value of content for SEO etc.)
  • Demonstrable skill with Google search console (formerly Google Webmaster tools), Google Tag manager and Google Analytics
