Regulatory and Control Analyst (0527)

  • Location of work:

dnata Travel Group, part of the Emirates Group, includes the brands of Gold Medal, Netflights, Travelbag, Travel Republic, and Sunmaster. These brands are based at offices across the UK including Preston (Leyland), Kingston-upon-Thames, Chester (Deeside) and Halifax.

We are now recruiting for a Financial Control and Regulatory Manager to provide support to both the Central Reporting and Control Functions. This role will be primarily based at our flagship office in Leyland, although flexible working will be considered.  Occasional travel to other offices will be required from time to time.

In this role you will be responsible for maintaining a strong relationship with the CAA, ABTA, IATA and all other governmental, trade and regulatory bodies.  You will be responsible for the timely and accurate submission of all monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory reports.  You will take the lead in the maintenance and renewal of all regulatory licences, as well as facilitating the annual signoff required from external auditors.

This role will also be heavily involved with a number of financial control initiatives and projects aimed at fostering a “best-practice” approach across our numerous businesses.  Over the next six months, the business will prioritize the work we are undertaking to clean, standardize, and align our balance sheet reconciliations.  This work will involve assisting the business in identifying and making the necessary process changes, as well as focusing on establishing clear owners who will be accountable for the recs on an ongoing basis.  We also intend to initiate an on-going framework of central review by the control team.  In addition, we are also engaged with the group finance team in Dubai to agree a standardized authorities matrix, with the intention that it would then be used as a template for all dnata companies world-wide.  We are also actively engaged with the group internal audit team and will be looking to improve our own internal controls and to ensure existing controls are documented and tested on an ongoing basis.

To be considered for this role, we need you to have the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is desirable or previous experience in a similar role
  • Proven ability to understand and engage with key stakeholders – particularly with regards to change management
  • An open and honest approach and be willing to share your opinions with confidence
  • A clear thinker, adopting logical and structured approaches to all business matters.
  • The ability to challenge current processes and historic ways of working, and demonstrate a capacity to suggest improved and streamlined processes.
  • Highly numerate and analytical
  • Advanced Excel skills –experience working with and analysing large data sets is essential


  • Experience in understanding regulations and how they apply to the business.
  • Experience of working in the leisure, travel or service sector industries
  • Experience of working within a Group structure and liaising and co-ordinating reporting across a number of subsidiaries/locations
