Platform Solutions Architect (0388)

dnata Travel Group, part of the Emirates Group, includes the brands of Gold Medal, Netflights, Travelbag, Travel Republic, and Sunmaster. These brands are based at offices across the UK including Preston (Leyland), Kingston-upon-Thames, Chester and Halifax.

We are now recruiting for an experienced technology driven Platform Solution Architect who will be the primary technical contact for one or more projects or product roadmaps and modernizing mid and back office systems. Reporting to the Chief Architect you will help to define and grow the blueprint architecture for group solutions, developing simple, elegant solutions through several years of experience in software development and architecture.

You will be joining a smart, experienced, fast-moving and rapidly growing team where you will be responsible for the design and architecture of eCommerce based technology solutions for our travel brands. Working alongside software delivery teams and project teams you will help build and integrate proprietary technology that can be deployed on a global scale.

The role supports a major high profile programme of work and you need to be able to work collaboratively as part of a project team and work well under pressure.

We  need you to have a strong software development background where you have guided and mentored a wider team of software developers and QA staff. You need to be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of technology stacks and development practices as well as strong domain and application knowledge in eCommerce and/or B2B sectors

To be considered for this role, we need you to have the following technical experience:

  • Architectural patterns such as SOA, Microservices, ESB
  • Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
  • Strong experience in visual design tools and methodologies to create architectural blueprints
  • oWASP Security Principles and associated best practices for delivering secure software solutions
  • Solid analytical skills and appreciation of technical risk
  • Experienced in automated testing and CI/CD (Continuous Integration & Deployment e.g. Azure Devops, Jenkins, TeamCity, Go-CD & Octopus Deploy)
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform)
  • Networking fundamentals - protocols, network security, NLB,
  • Containers and server-less architecture
  • Kubernetes & container orchestration technologies
  • Microservices
  • Platform integration technologies
  • Linux, .NET Core
  • Parallel programming
  • Caching strategies & performance tuning
  • Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools
  • API Management
  • IDP’s
  • NOSQL stores and non-relational databases
  • IIS, HTTP, Windows & Web Services, Web API, Web sockets, Web farms, Load balancing etc.
  • SOLID code principles

This role can be based remotely or at either of our offices in Leyland (Preston), Deeside or Kingston-upon-Thames. If based remotely, travel to your local office ,when required, would be at your own expense.
