We are now recruiting for a part-qualified Management Accountant to join us at our bright, modern office in Leyland (Lancashire).
In this role, you’ll be responsible for producing monthly management accounts including all supporting activities and schedules as well as key finance tasks such as VAT returns. You’ll also support the forecasting process and prepare additional reports and supporting schedules for Quarterly reporting and the year end audit.
This is a hybrid role, working 3 days each week in the office and 2 days remotely.
Study support will be provided to complete your qualification.
Job Accountabilities
- Produce monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet & cashflow statement
- Complete robust balance sheet reconciliations to meet financial controls
- Analysis of monthly costs & investigation of variances to budget/forecast
- Assist with the production of supporting schedules for annual statutory accounts & tax returns
- Hold regular aged debtor meetings and ensure aged items are investigated and cleared
- Identify P&L risks/opportunities that may affect forecasts
- Liaise with internal and external auditors & provide required information
- Assist in preparation of VAT and other regulatory returns.
- Prepare and agree intercompany reconciliations.
- Review purchase ledger invoice coding
To be considered for this role, we need you to have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
- Previous experience in a busy Finance department
- Part-qualified - CIMA, ACCA or AAT
- Proven track record in producing accurate management accounts
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Able to work to a high degree of accuracy at all times and to strict deadlines
- Excellent communications skills – able to build great relationships with stakeholders and colleagues
Desirable
- Experience in the Travel Industry or experience working within a high volume business
- Experience of Sage X3
- Experience of working with external auditors
