Copywriter and Social Media Executive (0098)

With a new brand vision and framework, this is an exciting position within the Travel Republic marketing team as the role will be vital to developing and executing content with the new tone of voice and brand purpose across our channels to support overall business growth.

Our ideal candidate has good experience of working in an e-commerce environment with creative flair, a passion for marketing and solid copy writing skills with proven experience of positively growing audience engagement and growth across online and social marketing channels when working collaboratively and proactively with a breadth of internal stakeholders. 

Job Accountabilities

Brand copy

Be the brand guardian for all copy across Travel Republic channels

  • Create and maintain master copy guidelines and dictionary, that can easily be referenced and used by you and the wider teams across the business.

Travel Republic Blog

Editorial responsibility for managing and developing the Travel Republic Blog as an acquisition channel to inspire our audiences into action:

  • Work closely with Campaign Manager, SEO Manager and PR & Social Media Manager to develop the best-in-class travel Blog with compelling, customer centric content.
  • Create regular and compelling articles each week for the Blog.
  • Responsible for promotion of the Travel Republic Blog across other marketing communications to drive engagement and action.

Social Media

Daily management and support in creation of Travel Republic’s social media content strategy:

  • Implement social media strategy by social media channel working closely with PR & Social Media Manager.
  • Create compelling, impactful, relevant and engaging content for the various social media platforms working collaboratively with the PR & Social Media Manager.
  • Ensure content (copy, visual language and video content) resonates with Travel Republic’s brand values, tone of voice and will be engaging to encourage sharing by our followers across the various social media platforms.

Email Marketing

Creation of copy content for brand and partnership email marketing activity.

  • Weekly creation of inspirational copy for brand and partnership emails to increase intent to purchase through email channel.

Market Insight and Trends

The go to person for insights across social media marketing trends, developments and new ideas.

  • Proactively researching and sharing industry news across social media marketing as that can be used as insights to better Travel Republic channels.

General Responsibility

  • To be the go to person for Travel Republic brand copy requests.
  • To actively champion, promote and remain a strong ambassador of the Travel Republic brand and values.
  • To be audience centric.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience


  • Degree level English; Journalism; Creative Writing; Marketing or similar Excellent language skills


  • Minimum 3+  years of copy writing, proof reading and editing
  • Clear and concise writing technique, with proven content and marketing communications writing experience with ability to adapt tone of voice.
  • Creative flair – can demonstrate writing inspiring and persuasive copy for commercial success. Previous experience of copywriting for marketing communications across all channels essential.
  • Creative and innovative - constantly coming up with new, imaginative content ideas and techniques or brand campaign ideas.
  • Good level of experience working across various stakeholder groups, responding to briefs and managing own workload
  • Good level of experience in optimising copy for SEO against target keyword strategy
