Senior Software Engineer (0076)

We are now recruiting for experienced Senior Software Engineers based at our new office in Leyland. In this role you will work both independently and collaboratively to help design and implement high quality, complex software solutions using best development practices.

The dnata Travel engineering team are responsible for the growth and evolution of in-house developed travel platforms and integrate with a number of 3rd party platforms. These platforms are being developed and rolled out across multiple brands, departments and teams within the group.

You will be joining a smart, experienced, fast-moving team working in an agile environment , who continue to explore new technologies, tools & techniques to both grow the platforms and to service the growing needs of the business that the platforms supports.

As a Senior Engineer, you will have a proven strong software development background to be able to provide guidance and mentoring to the development team and QA staff, while helping to deliver the product roadmap. You should have in-depth experience of working on multi-tier, high volume, transactional systems and an in-depth knowledge of key technology theories and architectures. You should have experience of developing and supporting API’s and micro services supplying a service to both internal and external customers. We needs you to also have great client-facing skills to develop great relationships with other technology groups and the business.

In order to be considered for this role, we need you to experience of the following:-

  • SOLID code principles
  • Expert in C# and JavaScript and ideally experience in some other languages such as F#, VB .NET, Java, Scala, Python, Clojure, Golang etc.
  • Using 3rd party .Net libraries and NuGet
  • Expert in IIS, HTTP, Windows & Web Services, Web API, Web sockets, Web farms, Load balancing etc.
  • Parallel programming e.g. Reactive Extensions
  • Understanding of MS SQL/Mongo Query Plans
  • ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) e.g. SSIS
  • Able to prioritise work and tracking progress
