Senior Delivery Manager (Leyland or Kingston)

Dnata Travel Group are on the search for a Senior Delivery Manager to lead our delivery teams into the future of our business, to be based out of either our Leyland office or Kingston Upon Thames.

As the Senor Delivery Manager, you will be accountable for being part of the Delivery Practice and for leading one or more agile delivery teams, in planning and delivering the vision and objectives, both within Product and Technology.

You will be collaborating with stakeholders across the business and IT, including our external partners to achieve the best results for the business, your role will be pivotal to shape ways of working, innovation and continuous delivery.

You will be part of the chapter to define practices across delivery as well as collaborating with other practices to ensure continuous improvement in developing standards driving hugely effective delivery of software.

You’ll be adept at delivering complex digital deliveries, breaking down barriers for your team and both planning at a higher level and getting into the detail to make things happen when needed.

You will be core to decisions that building and recruiting high performing agile teams, where people are excited about the work they are undertaking.

 

Key Accountabilities:

You will lead teams and be part of the delivery chapter responsible for the overall delivery against strategic product road maps.

  • Defining delivery standards and practices
  • Recruiting and setting clear objectives across the delivery chapter
  • Defining delivery KPIs and monitoring performance across teams.
  • Coaching teams to be predictable, sustainable, value driven and flexible.
  • Support the team by collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the team has clarity on vision
  • and goals.
  • Maintaining team velocity and focus on committed goals, by removing blockers, managing dependencies, issues and risks.
  • Working across organisational & geographical boundaries, to help teams overcome obstacles and get the best value against constraints.
  • Reporting on team progress towards goals, managing expectations and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
  • Driving a continuous improvement mindset and developing self-sufficient agile teams.

  • Process: Effective application of Agile software practices and able to participate in Agile ceremonies as required. Provide strategic thinking and planning and provide expertise throughout the full software engineering lifecycle. Able to work without continual guidance, prioritise work and track progress. Has a strong sense of quality ownership making sure that quality is baked in from the start.

 

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager or a Delivery Manager
  • Working with both internal and external delivery teams
  • Line Management and mentoring of people and teams
  • A track record of changing process and designs to optimise delivery performance of teams
  • Excellent background in collaborating with Stakeholders, Peers and Vendors
  • Expert knowledge and experience cultivating high performing teams utilising Agile & Lean techniques.
  • Proven track record of delivering multiple technical or digital projects and/or products, meeting outcomes and driving business value.
  • Proven track record of successful collaboration across functions and disciplines
  • Track record of introducing effective agile methodologies and techniques to teams with varying backgrounds and experience.
  • Experience with agile project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence Trello & Slack.

  • Budget management

  • Experience of software development within the travel industry

Skills and Knowledge:  

    • Strong knowledge of Agile delivery methodology (Kanban/Scrum).
    • Strong organisational and communication skills.
    • Excellent analytical skills, providing structured thinking and challenge to problems.
    • Good planning skills.
    • Working collaboratively within delivery teams and cross-functionally.
    • Mentoring /coaching skills.
