Programme Manager – Leyland (Hybrid)


dnata Travel is going through a period of rapid growth due to company-wide technology transformation programmes, alongside Agile transformation. As a result, we are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to take ownership of a varied portfolio of projects and initiatives.


The role:

  • Own, lead and manage the planning, initiation, delivery and successful closure of a portfolio of projects and key initiatives, ensuring delivery to time, to budget and to quality standards
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor projects and be self-directed, proactive and innovative in the management of your own workload and the risks, issues and dependencies to successful business outcomes.
  • Manage Steering Groups and Board meetings with senior stakeholders – both internal and external
  • Build and manage relationships with the business stakeholders and within IT and wider businesses within dnata Travel. You will work closely with peer groups to track, manage and report on risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Contribute to the development of the processes and tools as part of continuous improvement.


Flexible to be based either in our Leyland or the Kingston with some travel within UK and occasionally international.


  • Become a trusted advisor with the business stakeholders and be part of the business teams to drive a 3-year business strategy and align the IT strategy to deliver the business objectives.
  • Manage virtual high-performing teams in a matrix environment spanning internationally
  • Deliver a high quality of management of IT deliveries
  • Ensure that initiatives are initiated correctly and within the delivery framework governance model
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies & assumptions across.
  • Support the development of the business case and feasibility studies with key business stakeholders
  • Construct, maintain and report on budgets and be responsible for early indication of variances outside agreed tolerance levels.
  • Responsible for quality management of the deliverables, ensuring adequate quality control and quality assurance.
  • To build relationships with key business stakeholders and be responsible for all IT communications across the stakeholder matrix.
  • Demonstrate a strong commercial understanding of deliverables, alignment to business commercials and manage the costs and other resources to ensure deliverys to budget.
  • Define tolerances and negotiate with Project Boards to achieve signoff.
  • Take ownership for the delivery of multiple concurrent deliverables as required.
  • Liaise and demonstrate influence with business users at all levels of the organisation.




  • Strong proven experience working in Agile IT Delivery as a Senior IT Project Manager or Programme Manager.
  • A demonstrable track record of managing and delivering complex projects within a software focussed environment preferably using SAFe, preferably within the Travel Industry experience.
