dnata Travel Group, part of the Emirates Group, includes the brands of Gold Medal, Netflights, Travelbag, Travel Republic, and Sunmaster.

We are now recruiting for a PR Executive to drive positive editorial and be the day-to-date press officer for our Gold Medal, Netflights and Sunmaster brands. This role will also support the delivery of the groups’ UK corporate and internal communication plans.

We need someone with previous PR experience, ideally from within a travel organisation or agency background working with Travel clients, who has excellent contacts with UK consumer and trade travel media, bloggers and Influencers.

 Job Accountabilities

  • Support the annual PR plan for Gold Medal, Netflights and Sunmaster
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with key media targets
  • Be the first point of contact and respond to incoming media requests
  • Contribute to crisis planning and respond as required, collaborating with brand social and direct marketing teams as needed - this could be out of hours.
  • Help to arrange and host media events and attend travel media networking events.
  • Draft and sell-in / distribute press releases, brand communications, alerts, quotes, comments, statements and award entries
  • Utilise your own channels, particularly LinkedIn, to promote brand messages and objectives to key audiences.
  • Work with the Brand Marketing teams, creative, SEO or other agencies to ensure strategic and messaging alignment across the marketing mix and ensure any content and social activations are supported through PR.
  • Contribute to internal content brainstorms and the creation of compelling, impactful, relevant and engaging content for blogs and social media platforms.
  • Support the Communications Director with the writing and delivery of both the corporate and internal communications plans
  • Track and report on coverage, online and in-print, working with our press cuttings agency accurately measuring value according to a series of qualitative criteria.
  • Write and distribute internal communications material
  • Be a champion of our brand and Group Vision, Mission and Values.

To be considered for this role, we need you to have the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Degree level education in Public Relations; English; Journalism; Marketing or similar
  • Previous PR experience, in-house and/or agency side – ideally with travel-based organisations.
  • UK media relations experience - key consumer media contacts across print, online and broadcast media outlets, existing relationships in travel (consumer, and trade), consumer lifestyle and technology media preferred
  • The ability to develop and deliver imaginative content and brand campaign ideas
  • The ability to manage changing requirements while staying focused and on point
  • Good level of experience working across various stakeholder groups, responding to briefs and managing own workload.
  • Experience of helping to successfully manage a brand narrative in a crisis.
  • First class communication skills both written and verbal (including excellent press release and statement writing skills).
  • A commitment to excellence and the willingness to go the ‘extra mile’ to meet goals and objectives.
  • Able to handle fast-paced environments, with quick-turn timelines
  • Proactive, positive ‘can do’ attitude, self-starter
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
