We have an exciting interim opportunity within our Travel Republic Brand Marketing team for a passionate, driven and highly committed PR & Social Media Manager on a 12 month fixed term contract (Maternity Cover). With the goal of delivering brand fame, our ideal candidate has proven experience of  briefing and executing National PR campaigns that are well planned and targeted to gain coverage across broadcast, print and digital media. With responsibility of leading and managing our Social Media & Copywriting executive, passion for creativity and engagement on social media marketing channels and well written English is a must.

Job Accountabilities


Leading and working collaboratively with the wider marketing team and supporting agencies, this role is responsible for:

  • The delivery of PR campaigns aligned to  the marketing strategy and comms plan.
  • Ensuring PR campaigns are delivered across all customer touchpoints and marketing channels.
  • Daily management of PR agency to deliver PR KPIs which achieve marketing goals.
  • Protecting the reputation of the brand with effective crisis and issues management.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key journalists, and responding proactively and reactively to opportunities.
  • Management of the Travel Republic’s press centre.
  • Securing coverage across travel media in the UK & Ireland that promotes the value of Travel Republic’s product
  • Evaluation of media coverage and reporting to ensure key stakeholders are informed.   

Social Media

Daily management and support in creation of Travel Republic’s social media content strategy:

  • Lead on social media strategy with Copywriter and Social Media Executive.
  • Create compelling, impactful, relevant and engaging content for the various social media platforms working collaboratively with th
  • e Copywriter and Social Media Executive.
  • Ensure regular reporting on performance of social media channels

Market Insight and Trends

The go to person for insights across PR and social media marketing trends, developments and new ideas.

  • Proactively researching and sharing industry news across social media marketing as that can be used as insights to better Travel Republic channels.

General Responsibility

  • To be the go to person for Travel Republic PR
  • To actively champion, promote and remain a strong ambassador of the Travel Republic brand and values.
  • To be audience centric.
  • To be an inspiring and passionate team member contributing to overall strong team spirit and culture



  • High level of experience briefing and managing agencies to deliver campaigns to achieve KPIs.
  • Creative and innovative - constantly coming up with new, imaginative content ideas and techniques or brand campaign ideas.
  • Good level of experience working across various stakeholder groups, responding to briefs and managing own workload.
  • First class communication skills both written and verbal (including excellent press release and statement writing skills).
  • Proven social media experience on channels such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube within a marketing team and can deploy best practices in social media.
  • Experience of drafting and responding to and managing crisis related PR activity (preferably for a consumer facing brand).

Knowledge and skills:

  • Must have excellent contacts with UK Travel media.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and passion for social media marketing.
  • Previous experience of working in Content Management Systems, WordPress beneficial.
  • Good experience of Social Media monitoring and scheduling tools, Radian 6 and Social Studio beneficial.
