Job Purpose

As our next Finance Manager, you’ll be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with extensive management accounting and VAT experience from working within a large finance team. You’ll be forward-thinking with a passion for learning, development and improvement, leading three direct reports across the Management Accounting and Bank Reconciliation teams. Supporting the Head of Finance, you’ll be strategic and adaptable and the driving force behind the development and implementation of processes that improve accuracy and efficiency. You’ll look for new ways to do things that are original and creative whilst embedding a robust control environment and promote a risk-aware culture across the business.

You’ll have top notch organisational skills as your responsibilities will include the accuracy and timeliness of the management and statutory accounts, fully participating in and managing month end routines. You’ll be a great communicator that can adapt to any audience, conveying financial reports, variance analysis and other ad hoc analysis in a way that even your non-finance colleagues will find clear.


  • Production of monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet & input into cash flow statement
  • Completion of standardised Balance Sheet reconciliations which are robustly maintained with all risks and opportunities flagged on a timely basis.
  • Analysis of monthly costs & investigation of variances to budget/forecast
  • Assisting with preparation of annual budgets & monthly and quarterly forecasts
  • Assisting with production of supporting schedules for annual statutory accounts & tax returns
  • Openly communicate and build good working relationships with internal and external stake holders
  • Communicate effectively with team colleagues and drive improvements in processes and controls
  • Manage a team of 3 direct reports to achieve the team’s goals and support individual career progression.

Qualifacations & Experience 


  • CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified
  • 3 Years+ experience in a busy Finance department


  • Experience of working in a dynamic environment
  • Experience of working in a diverse team
  • Proven track record in producing accurate management accounts in a timely manner


  • Ability to be able to influence and support staff development
  • Experience in the Travel Industry
  • Audit experience
  • VAT experience

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Working to a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail at all times
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Experience of producing management accounts within a strict deadline
  • Experience of Sage
  • Drives own development
