Data and Analytics Product Delivery Manager (0461)

dnata Travel Group, part of the Emirates Group, includes the brands of Gold Medal, Netflights, Travelbag, Travel Republic, and Sunmaster. These brands are based at offices across the UK including Preston (Leyland), Kingston-upon-Thames, Chester and Halifax.

We are looking for a talented Data and Analytics Product Delivery Manager to join our global central business intelligence team based at our UK flagship office in Leyland.

In this role, you will work alongside 6 members of the central BI team and be our UK lead for portfolio management across all our UK brands.

You will create the bridge between business stakeholders and your colleagues in data engineering and analytics; the roles main KPI’s are to:

  • Work with stakeholders to document, plan and prioritise initiatives
  • Come up with high level technical solutions to business problems
  • Manage projects from conception, through delivery, implementation as well as onward monitoring to ensure business cases are realised
  • Provide the business with clear communication on timelines, issues and risks throughout
  • Contribute to the long term roadmap for the Business Intelligence department

Seen as a key growth area for the business, the central BI team has grown rapidly and organically from a single person operation 5 years ago to a team of 16 people located globally.

The BI team consists of four functional areas:

  • Portfolio Management
  • Support and Integrity
  • Analytics and Modelling
  • Data Engineering

The Data Engineering team are responsible for sourcing data and building data pipelines from source to the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDWH). The Analytics and Modelling team then focus on further manipulation of the data in the EDWH to generate insightful models/data sets, merging various sources and creating core visualisations of the data for the business.  The Portfolio Management team focus on working with the business to ensure that they are getting the most out of the self-service platform, working with the business on the high level roadmap items, enhancements to existing data sets/dashboards as well as providing training. The Support and Integrity team then ensure that from start to finish the entire solution contains accurate data and the users are getting the support that they require from the team. Although individual team members are tagged to areas, there is always opportunity for individuals to get involved in other areas with a number of cross overs between teams.

What we need from you

Being a very varied role, involving both commercial acumen and technical understanding, we are looking for someone with experience of taking requirements from business stakeholders and translating them into technical specifications. We expect you to have experience of project managing technical teams to deliver solutions, and as this role is focused around data and analytics a broad knowledge of SQL data warehouses, and working with modern analytics tools like Sisense, Power BI, Looker, Tableau etc is key.
