dnata Travel Group, part of the Emirates Group, includes the brands of Gold Medal, Netflights, Travelbag, Travel Republic, and Sunmaster. These brands are based at offices across the UK including Preston (Leyland), Kingston-upon-Thames, Chester and Halifax.

We are now recruiting for an experienced Business Analyst to join the Agile delivery team. 

Working in collaboration with Portfolio Management, Product Management and Delivery Management, you will be a key contributor in program increment planning, accountable for refinement of Epics and take ownership of the program increment prioritisation process, maintaining delivery cadence with engineering and supporting the delivery of Sprint backlogs.

As a Business Analyst you will also work closely with business units and subject matter experts to identify business needs, highlight improved business process opportunities, develop requirements, identify and select solutions and vendors.

To be considered for this role you need to have previous Business Analyst experience alongside Agile methodology ideally in the travel industry, although this is not essential. You need to be able to interact with a variety of people and adapt your style to different personalities. You must be process-oriented with sound judgment, attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through including the flexibility to perform in an ever-changing work environment. Job Accountabilities

  • Program increment planning and Theme/Epic refinement.
  • Develop a sound knowledge of business and the effect of any requested changes
  • Gather and understand business processes and requirements using appropriate techniques
  • Assist in the production of business cases defining the costs and benefits associated with requested changes
  • Deliver clear, concise and accurate user stories and acceptance criteria detailing customer or user interactions, which result in a clear design brief
  • Create appropriate documentation such as UML process flows and wireframes / sketches to support conversations with both development teams and stakeholders
  • Constructively challenge requirements and priorities to support the business in maximising benefit from projects in an environment of continual change
  • Work closely with the business in understanding relative priority of requirements and where appropriate, proposes phasing options to help the business achieve value sooner
  • Work with business owners and IT delivery work streams to develop and design optimal solutions
  • Prepare and facilitate pre-sprint activities such as backlog grooming and 3-amigo sessions
  • Work with project manager/s and product owners to plan analysis work and highlight risks and issues
  • Work with stakeholders and the project manager to agree and document the project scope

Qualifications, skills and experience

  •  Business analysis experience
  • Agile methodology experience
  • An understanding of business analysis principles, processes and techniques
  • The ability to think analytically, solve problems to complex business processes, and document results
  • The ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear, concise manner across functional and technical departments
  • The ability to develop and prepare process models, functional specifications, and technical requirements
  • The ability to perform industry research to clarify, define, or satisfy technology or business process issues
  • Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office and Visio
