Business Analyst - 15 months fixed term contract (0091)

dnata Travel, part of the Emirates Group, includes the brands of Gold Medal, Travel 2, Netflights, Travelbag, Travel Republic, Global Travel Group and Sunmaster. These brands are based at offices across the UK including London, Kingston-upon-Thames, Chester, Preston, Halifax and Glasgow.

We are now recruiting for a Business Analyst on a fixed term basis for 15 months to be based at our newly renovated, start-of-the-art office in Leyland, south of Preston.

Job Purpose

  • Work with PO / Lead BA to receive requirements
  • Do initial 1 hour discovery to ensure majority of work will be delivered by your VS
  • Ensure all EPICS/User Stories meet DoR in JIRA
  • Link all stories to EPICS and user stories/tasks being delivered out of other VS
  • Planning of analysis tasks ahead of sprint and monitoring of progress to ensure there is always surplus of tickets.
  • Sprint ceremony Grooming - create EPICS/User Stories before Sprint grooming.  Discuss with DEV before they are presented in grooming.  If need be, have more workshops post Grooming so that DoR can be met before sprint planning day
  • Sprint ceremony Planning - Ensure all tickets to be presented in planning have DoR.
  • Support DM with Sprint planning activities like resource sheet and white boards"
  • Sprint ceremony Retro/review - Provide inputs at review/retro.
  • Actively participate in the design and analysis guild, sharing and re-applying skills and knowledge and bringing in best practice.


Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Previous business analysis experience with some experience gained in a travel industry environment
  • Knowledge of travel platforms and B2B Stacks
  • Experience in DAD / Agile environment, writing user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Outstanding facilitation and influencing skills
  • Confidence to question stakeholders and identify underlying requirements
  • Used to leading the capture, validation and analysis of requirements
  • Highly proficient at producing process maps and process flow models
  • Previous exposure to the full software development life-cycle
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team player able to work constructively with delivery managers, project managers, business analysts, developers, suppliers, testers, business stakeholders and management
  • High proficiency at producing process maps and process flow models
  • Previous exposure to the full software development life-cycle
